History of the Arkansas Appraisers Association Print E-mail
The ARKANSAS APPRAISAL FOUNDATION, INC. was founded on February 21, 1989 with its purpose to analyze and affect real estate appraisal legislation in Arkansas, and to actively propose, support, or oppose such legislative issues, laws, or proposals that affect real estate appraisers.

Arkansas appraisal trade organizations that were original members are the Arkansas Chapters of:
Society of Real Estate Appraisers
International Association of Assessing Officers
International Right-of-Way Association
National Assn. of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers
National Association of Independent Fee Appraisers
National Association of Master Appraisers.

The permanent executive/secretary is Tom M. Ferstl, who was also the co-author of the Arkansas Appraiser Licensing and Certification Law, enacted in 1991.

The Arkansas Appraisal Foundation has effectively become the "voice" of the various appraisal organizations here in Arkansas and a focal point for unification for all individual appraisers.

The Arkansas Appraisers Association was founded in 2005 through the efforts of Tom Ferstl who became its first President. The AAA was organized to become the "voice" for individual appraisers, certified, licensed or registered here in Arkansas.
